Handmade in India, the country of origin of chess.
Medium-sized and double-weightend chess pieces with a felt base and a center of gravity inlay in the foot.
Figures hand-carved from hard boxwood.
The deep, impenetrable blackness of the figures is achieved using an ancient process. They are blackened with shellac before the polishing process, i.e. ebonized.
